Pauline Laverne Setliff Maule was born March 10, 1927 in Austin, Texas to Loddie Thomas and Beulah Yell Setliff. Pauline means "gentle loving spirit". Laverne is from the alder tree and means"beautiful life and beautiful spirit". She passed away in her home on August 8, 2022. As a baby her parents moved to Corpus Christi, Texas. She graduated from Mathis High School then attended Bethany Nazarene College in Oklahoma. "I thank God for Christian parents who taught me to put God first in my life." Pauline married Alvin Maule who was a minister in 1947. "The best decision I ever made." They were pastors and evangelist for 50 years and were married 59, 1/2 years when Alvin passed away. "I enjoyed being wife of a minister, loved our church, mother of two, Keith and Cindy who was our greatest gifts. \ worked with children, singing, church secretary, Day Care Director, VBS, and with seniors. Being a wife and mother was my main job." Pauline was preceded in death by her husband Alvin, her daughter Cindy Laree who died at 49 years old of ovarian cancer. "She was a beautiful girl, great singer, pianist, school teacher, and great mother. Our grandson Kyle Allen, who stole our hearts, lost his life at 31 years. Ask him and he would tell you he was his Mema 's favorite." Pauline was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers J.W. And Ardell, and a sister, Geneva Harris. "Now I am going to see God and my family. I am sorry to leave my only son Keith, his wife, Rhonda, four grandsons, Ryan Maule and wife Amber, Cindy's boys Dallas Maginn and wife Logan, and Connor and Reagan Maginn. Three great grandchildren, Summer, Nolan, and Harvey Maule. Three nieces, Arlene Richey of Conroe, TX, Sherry Poage and Delores Laverne Parker of Oklahoma City, OK; three nephews, Ronnie and Jerry Setliff of Corpus Christi, TX and Alvin Ray Setliff of Erie, Colorado. I love my family."
