Let me tell you about my brother Tim. Tim Mayo. Timbo. 
When I was a kid about 8 yrs old I met my brother. I never knew my siblings well until I was in my late teens. Tim went into the Air Force when I was just a year old. I would hear stories as a kid of him living in California. 
He came to Maine and he was the proverbial Hippie that summer in the 70’s. He wore a poncho, a headband and a big peace symbol around his neck. He picked me up and said, hey, kiddo, I’m your big brother Tim. I fell instantly in love. He took me shopping and bought me new sneakers. When I outgrew my shoes as a kid, my dad used to slice the top of the shoe so I could still wear them .Tim got me sneakers and a Superman tshirt. I thought I had met the best guy in the whole world. We would talk while I was in my teens. He sent me a shirt from different colleges he went to. I cherished those like they were gold. When I was 17, he said come see me in California! I didn’t tell my mother I was going. I said my friend Beth and I were going camping. And we did! Tim took us all over California and we went camping high up in the mountains of Yosemite Nat’l Park. He was the coolest guy ever!!! 
He helped me thru my own life problems. Before Renee and I got married I introduced her to My bro. She said he was me, the same. Because Tim was the kind of guy who made plans for us to meet his friends on the beach for fireworks the night we arrived. He took us to all the great spots. He gave us his car to drive and explore on our own. He was generous and easy to love. He taught us about California; the history, the trees, the ocean, the poets, John Steinbeck. He was my rock through a lot of my life’s struggles.He ate right, except for all those cookies,  I texted Tim before surgery and told him how much I loved him. He said this had been a great life. We exchanged ♥️ Emojis. There’s so many memories, love and advice he gave me. My heart is broken, but so grateful for having known my bro Tim.
