William Harold Riesz, age 87, of Venice,passed away on February 28, 2025. He was Preceded in death by his wife Marcia; younger sister Carol Nielsen of Renton, Washington; son James Riesz, from his first marriage, who was killed in a car accident while attending Ohio Wesleyan University. William Graduated HS in White Plains, NY, BS Electrical Engineering from Purdue. Early in his career he worked as a contractor, setting up communications for the military. Lived and worked across the globe from Europe to India, Japan and Philippines, as well as many places in the US. He met Marcia while working in Alaska, they had 2 children, David and Kathryn. He took 5 years off from engineering and moved the family to Vermont where he and Marcia bought art galleries and framing studios. William was a proud man who never stopped learning, loved travel, language, and a good debate.
