He is survived by his loving family. His wife, Fannie, for 67 years of marriage and his children, Deborah Frederick and Wilmer C Smith; surviving siblings Shirley Yawn and M. E. Howell; grandchildren Michael Smith and Alicia Relats; great grandchildren Westyn, Donevyn and Ethyn.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gordon (Monroe) and M. E. Smith, Bernice Hemanes, James and Alvin Smith.
Wilmer was most well known in the community and for his livelihood as a barber for 30 years right here in Venice. But his heart was truly in the land where he was born, he was a rancher, a farmer, and a custodian of many acres of land he truly loved. What gave him the strength to do everything he did was his overwhelming love he had for his family.
A visitation will be held for Wilmer at Kay - Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 5:00 PM until time of funeral service at 5:45PM. Interment will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery, Quincy, Florida on Monday, June 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
