

Alma Jean Reyes passed away peacefully on Sunday January 16, 2011, with her family by her side after a lengthy illness. Alma was born May 31, 1936, in Saticoy. She will be greatly missed by family, close friends and the many lives she touched in her nursing career.
She served as an inspiration to all that knew her displaying constant courage & strength as she battled Lupus and other health complications. She did this by the spiritual strength & trust she had with God.
Alma was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church where she attended mass accompanied by her lifelong friend Vickie Rios.
Alma was a lifetime resident of Ventura, preceded in death by her parents Pete & Dolores Reyes and her sister Armida Reyes.
She is survived by her only child, daughter, Lori Wickes (Curtis) son in law, Michael, grandchildren Shannon & Tyler (fiancé Kelli) and her great grandson Kalen Kai, whom is affectionately nicknamed "Buddha", loving & devoted companion of over 30 years, Herman Pillado, who never left her bedside. She is also survived by her brother Arnold Reyes (Anne), Sisters, Vera Hernandez, Marie Castor (Dave) Minerva Ortiz and Francine Reyes, numerous nieces & nephews.
The family would like to thank her doctors Dr. Arthur Inoshita, Dr. Kip Lyche, Dr Carmen Martinez and the wonderful staff of Community Memorial Hospital for their excellent care and compassion.
At Alma's request there will not be a funeral service. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday January 20 from 430pm to 730pm at Yolanda's Mexican Restaurant 2753 Main Street Ventura.
