

Lifelong Ventura County resident, Norman “Bubba” Taylor, Jr., 45, died Monday, July 7, 2014, due to a tragic accident. He was born on January 27, 1969 to Norman A. Taylor, Sr. and Julie L. (Baugh) Taylor. Bubba attended local schools and graduated from Buena High School in 1987.
Recently, Bubba had been working in construction as a supervisor for Sturgeon and Son Grading and Paving, Inc.
He loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, fishing, and golfing. Bubba especially treasured the times spent with his family. He dedicated many hours in youth sports coaching for Pony, SSL baseball, and TVL softball known as “Coach Bubba.” He was active with Bible Fellowship Church in the Men’s Ministry.
Bubba will be remembered as a beloved son, brother, loving husband, devoted father, uncle, nephew and friend. Words cannot express how much his family loved him and that he will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife of seven years, Corinna Taylor; children, Katie Taylor, Codie Laverdure, Brittany Bowman, Chloey and Zach Settles; parents Norman and Julie Taylor; siblings, James and Angela Taylor, Michelle and Kurt Cross; and three nieces and three nephews. A special thanks to Uncle Gary, Aunt Tammi, Aunt Diane, Aunt Nadean and Uncle Dan.
Visitation will take place on Friday, July 11, 2014, 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2014, 12 Noon, at Bible Fellowship Church, 6950 Ralston Street, Ventura. A reception honoring “Bubba” will follow the service at the church.
