Carmel Veronica Funston

She was born in Patrick’s Cove, Newfoundland, Canada to Michael and Hannah McGrath on April 7, 1929. Carmel came to the United States, a Nation she came to love, to become a wife, and eventually a beloved mother of seven children, a grandmother and later a great grandmother. She loved people.

In her later years, she moved to Ventura, treasuring the nearness of the ocean and the small town flavor.

Carmel is survived by daughters, Lorraine M. George of Post Falls, ID, Katherine Hanson of Marion, MT, Colleen Funston, of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, Juanita L. Moore, of Ventura, CA, Celeste J. Walter, of Lake Mathews, CA, and son, Robert Funston, of Arlington, WA; 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
