Cathy was born November 5, 1961, in Ventura, California, ten minutes before her twin, Beth. She attended school in Ventura and graduated from Buena in 1981 where she served as manager of the girls’ basketball team. Cathy’s experience with the team, coupled with her father’s coaching of basketball, ignited her lifelong passion for sports. In her youth at Sacred Heart Church, she was involved in the church youth group. Her devotion carried to adulthood at Our Lady of Assumption where she found her own community and expressed her faith as an adult cross bearer. Cathy worked at Vons at Telegraph and Victoria where she enjoyed connecting with old friends and making new ones.
Cathy and her twin, Beth, were true love bugs. They brought light and love to our family, community - or anyplace they went - always spreading smiles, laughs and hugs. Cathy’s life was about loving others. Her infectious spirit left a mark on all who crossed her path. That love still lives on but her soul is now untethered.
Cathy was preceded in death by her father, Charles T. Dunn and her sister, Elizabeth Virginia Dunn. She is survived by her mother, Margaret Dunn; brothers, Brian and David Dunn; sister, Leslie Kadillak; her troop of “love bugs” – nieces, Breanne, Kristen, Hannah, Molly; and nephews, Brian, Jr. and Charlie. She is also survived by her uncle and his wife, David and Ellen Walley; aunt, Julia Dunn; cousins, Tom and Rob Walley, and extended family in Ohio. Her family was the most important thing in her life.
