

Before retiring in 2000, Dave was employed by Naval Ship Weapons Systems Engineering Station (NSWSES) in Port Hueneme. His career with the United States Navy lasted for over thirty years. After his retirement, Dave became a book dealer which took him to many book festivals and author signings.
He was a nationally ranked tennis player in the 1950’s. Dave attended University of California Riverside and received a bachelor’s degree in Physics, in 1962. In 1965, he received a master’s degree in physics.
Dave enjoyed planting and caring for tomatoes, hot peppers and boysenberries. Over the years, Dave relaxed while camping and fishing in Arizona’s Oak Creek Canyon with his family and friends. He took pleasure in discussing and solving the world’s problems and drew upon his vast intellectual resources and knowledge to contribute convincing arguments.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lynda; son, Kevin and wife Andrea; daughter, Julie and husband Stephen; and granddaughters, Heather and Nikki.
A Celebration of Dave’s life will be held at the family home on Saturday, June 21, 2014, at 11:00am
