

Edwin George Eveland, 84, of Camarillo, passed away on July 6, 2013, in Ventura, following a brief illness. He was born in Rochester, New York on July 21, 1928, to Craig and Pearl Eveland. Ed met and married Marion Barkley in Rochester, New York and they raised a family that grew to three daughters.
Ed moved to Ventura County in the early 1960’s where he worked as a tool attendant and grinder. He retired in 1993 following thirty years of service with the Abex Company. In his younger years, Ed enjoyed bike riding and gardening. Later in life he had a passion for music of all kinds, movies, and he loved going to garage sales. Ed’s home was his castle; he was a handyman around the house always fixing something. Ed never knew anyone to be a stranger, he had a great sense of humor and his eyes would sparkle when he smiled. He enjoyed the simple things in life, his home and family. Ed was a devoted family man and always wanted to make sure his family was taken care of, he was a wonderful father and an honorable man. He did not attend church on a regular basis however he considered himself a strong Christian.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Craig Eveland.
Ed is survived by his three daughters, Donna Eveland of Ventura, Linda Eveland of Santa Barbara, and Karen Lawrence of Ventura; brother, Ron Eveland, of Penn Yan, New York; granddaughter, Amber Rocha of Oxnard; and great-grandchildren, Vivianna, Francisco, Oscar, Casandra, and Mathew.
A life celebration of life for Edwin will be announced at a later date.
