

Matthew Wilton, age 54, passed away at home in Ventura on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 after a brief illness. He was born in San Luis Obispo on September 13, 1957 and had been a resident of Ventura for 36 years.
He had worked as a stocker for Albertson’s Supermarket until retiring for medical reasons.
Matthew loved all sports, especially the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Dodgers and he was a collector of sports memorabilia. He enjoyed listening to music, especially the Beatles. He served as an usher at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Matthew was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Frances Wilton and niece, Dawn Monahan.
He is survived by his sister, Dana Monahan; brothers, Mark, Paul and Pat Wilton; nephews, Ryan Monahan, Derek Monahan, Geoff Wilton and Jonathan Wilton and niece, Christine Wilton.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 17 with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Charles Carroll Funeral Home, 15 Teloma Dr., Ventura. 642-8134. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 10800 Henderson Rd., Ventura. Interment will follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Matthew Wilton to Respect Life at Sacred Heart Church.
