Born January 16, 1925 in Pensacola, Florida, he endured Polio as a teenager. In 1955, he married his wife and best friend, Kay, and moved to California. Jim worked for the State of California and the County of Ventura, before moving to Dharhan, Saudi Arabia, returning to Venture upon retirement. He enjoyed coaching basketball, travel, cooking, friendships and Dodger baseball. Jim was very proud of his grandchildren, never missing an event. Most of all, he loved Kay, his family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 60 years, Kay Westling, 95; daughter, Kathi Westling Liddle; son, Jim Westling (Jacque); four grandchildren, whom he loved so much, Kristen Liddle Green (Cody); Steven Liddle (Erin); Jimmy Westling and Jeffrey Westling.
The family wishes to express its deepest gratitude to Larry & Carol, Tony, Levi and the girls at Eggs N’ Things, Right at Home caregivers including Leilani, Celeste and Francis and everyone else who helped Jim and Kay over the last few years.
Celebration service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 196 N. Ashwood, Ventura, CA 93003, Saturday, December 19, 2015, at 3:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, (“those damn flowers make me sneeze”), donations in Jim’s memory may be made to the Parkinson’s Association or your favorite charity.
