
John Macadam, 85, of Newport Beach, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 following a brief illness. He was born on October 15, 1927 in Delaware and lived in various places throughout his life including Ventura, and Costa Rica.
John was a well educated man, earning a Master’s degree and working as a mechanical engineer. His true calling however was missionary work. He devoted 40 years of his life to helping others as a missionary in Costa Rica with the Latin American Mission. John along with his wife June helped countless lives in their work for the mission. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood, and Mariner’s Church in Newport Beach.
Throughout his life John continued his quest for knowledge; studying, reading, problem solving, building and fixing things. He loved spending time with his family and studying his bible.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, June; his children and their families, son John Macadam and wife Franci; son Mark Macadam all of Orange County; son Bruce Macadam and his sons David and Daniel of Costa Rica; daughter Patricia McLay and children Sarah, Allyson and Kent of Ventura; son Christopher Macadam his wife Wendy, and children Emily, Nathan and Zachary of Orange County.
