Lifelong resident of Oxnard, Annette Guerrero, age 66, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 12, 2015, following a lengthy illness. Annette was born in Ventura on February 9, 1949 into the loving arms of her parents, Lynn and Billie Box.
Annette volunteered for several years at the Oxnard Rescue Mission serving meals and ministering. She will be dearly missed by the lives she touched, through her kindness, generosity of time, beautiful smile, willingness to help anyone and sharing her strong faith in Jesus Christ.
The joy of Annette’s life was her five beautiful granddaughters. She attended every sports activity, volunteered at their school, drove them to church and school activities; she was the definition of a devoted and loving grandmother.
She has now joined her loving parents, Lynn and Billie Box, in Heaven alongside her Heavenly Father Jesus Christ, who has restored her body to Glory.
Annette would want her family and loved ones to remember and embrace this verse; Philippians 2: 2-5 “make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interest of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus.”
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Raymond Guerrero; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Toby Douglas; daughter, Kirstin Guerrero; sister, Carol Swinney; sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and John Garner; granddaughters, Brianna, Alexandra, Michaela, Cassandra and Isabella; along with numerous nieces and nephews who adored her.
Visitation will be held from 4 PM until 7 PM on Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 AM, on Thursday, February 19, 2015, also at Ted Mayr Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, in Ventura.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home. Condolences may be left at TedMayrFuneralHome.com
