

As a young lady, Mary immigrated to Hong Kong and later, Victoria, Canada. While in Canada, Mary attended Catholic school and met her future husband, William Choy. They were married in 1950 and settled in Los Angeles. William and Mary soon welcomed a son, L. Bruce and daughter, Phoebe. Following retirement, Mary and William settled in Ventura and later travelled extensively.
Mary was a devout Catholic and attended Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church for over 45 years. She was a founding member of the Chinese Christian Church of Oxnard, and a long-time member of the Legion of Mary as well as the Young Ladies Institute (Y.L.I).
She was preceded in death by her husband, William, in 2000. Mary is survived by her son L. Bruce Choy; and daughter, Phoebe Choy.
Visitation will be held at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura on Thursday, February 12, 2015, from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. with Rosary to follow. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 3175 Telegraph Road, Ventura on Friday, February 13, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. Burial to follow at Santa Clara Catholic Cemetery in Oxnard.
