Michael Anthony Tamayo, 34, of Ventura, joined our Heavenly Father on Monday, January 5, 2015, with his family by his side, as a result of a sudden illness. He was born May 12, 1980 in Oxnard and lived his entire young life in Ventura. He was a loving son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew and friend.
Michael is survived by his parents, Michael and Frances Tamayo; sisters, Nichole and Melissa Tamayo; brother, Richard Tamayo; nieces, Samantha, Shyann, Sophia and Leilah; and nephews, Andrew, Anthony, Joseph, and River. He also leaves his maternal grandparents, Emily and Richard De Los Santos, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Michael is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Josephina Tamayo.
He graduated from Buena High School in 1998; he attended Oxnard College and worked for Empire Transportation. Michael loved wrestling, especially watching Monday night WWE and pay-per-view events with his friends. He also loved football and was proud to be a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, even when they lost a game. Michael loved to cook and loved to BBQ. He was an excellent baker and made outstanding salsa. He loved watching Bruce Lee movies and reading anything about him. Michael had a great smile and was a hugger and when he gave you a hug, you felt loved. But most of all Michael loved his family dearly and was a true and loyal friend. He had a way of listening and not judging. Michael left an imprint in the hearts of family and friends.
He will be forever in our hearts, and dearly missed. Gone but not forgotten.
God saw you getting tired.
When a cure was not to be.
So He wrapped his arms around you, and whispered, "come to me."
You didn't deserve what you went through,
So He gave you rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best
And when I saw you sleeping,
So peaceful and free from pain
I could not wish you back
To suffer that again.
