

Mildred Hamilton, 91, of Ventura went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 26, 2016. She was born on August 28, 1924 in Jonesboro, AR. Mildred was brought up in the Word of God and was a devoted Christ follower. She met her husband Bill when she was 17 when they became neighbors. In 1943 Mildred graduated from High School and she and Bill married at the age of 18.
Shortly after their marriage, Bill volunteered and went into the Navy. During his tour, Mildred stayed in Arkansas, working as a church secretary. After her husband was discharged, they came to Ventura to see a couple of aunts that lived in Ojai. Though they were just coming for a visit, they ended up staying.
Mildred and Bill became embers of Grace Church (then called Calvary Baptist Church) on January 30, 1949 and have been members ever since. Mildred felt tremendous love for the people of Grace. She would help out with meal deliveries, hospital visits, home visits, most of all she offered up prayers for all the saints.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Karen Hamilton.
Mildred is survived by her husband of 73 years, Bill Hamilton; sister, Virginia Gambill of Jonesboro, AR and numerous nieces and nephews in Arkansas.
A chapel service will be held for Mrs. Hamilton on Mon., May 2 at 11am at Charles Carroll Funeral Home with Dr. Tracy Cook will be officiating the service. Burial will follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Charles Carroll Funeral Home, 15 Teloma Drive, Ventura.
