Nancy R. Jordan

It is with deep sadness that our dear friend and neighbor, Nancy Jordan, passed away on October 20, 2012 after suffering a brain aneurism and complications of pneumonia. Nancy leaves behind the love of her life, Bob Jordan, of Ventura; two daughters, Claudia Owens of Scottsdale. AZ and Lydia Milars of Los Angeles, CA; stepdaughter Jane Bull of Portland, ME; stepson Stephen Jordan of Bangor, ME; plus a large number lifelong friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her parents and both of her brothers, Jack and Chuck Rall.

Nancy Lou Rall was born in Pittsburgh, PA on December 9, 1928 and lived a long and fulfilling life. Nancy was a feisty one, strong willed and determined, with a fantastically funny and sarcastic sense of humor that could make someone laugh at the drop of a hat. Her greatest passions were flower gardens and rescuing dogs. If something needed to get done, Nancy was the one for the job.

Nancy was nationally recognized for her many years of service with the Girls Scouts of America while she and Bob lived in Chicago in the 70’s and 80’s. Her dedication was instrumental in the growth of positive influence in the lives of hundreds of girls and young women over the years. In the early 90’s when she and Bob moved to Scottsdale, Nancy set to work organizing groups of people to visit the sick in local hospitals, she wrote books of prayers and spent years tirelessly helping those in need, Nancy had a heart of pure gold.

There will be no funeral as Nancy’s wishes were to be cremated with no services. Both Nancy and Bob have devoted over 20 years to rescuing dogs and her wish, in lieu of flowers, would be donations to her favorite charity.
