Ronald Neil White, 86, of Ojai, California, passed away on May 15th, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his family. Ron was born on June 17th, 1930, in Los Angeles, and lived in Southern California for the majority of his life. He moved his family to Ojai over 45 years ago to pursue his dream to become a rancher. He was an active member of the community and a well-known face around town. Ron White was a friend to many on his daily treks, from the bank to the dry cleaners to the post office, and knew these people by name, as they did him. Ron leaves behind a number of people who think of him as a father, which speaks to his innate ability to listen with great care and compassion. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Helayne; sons Craig of Atlanta, GA, and David (Victoria) of Seattle, WA; daughters Dana of Ojai; and Lori (Carrie Landon) of Ventura; and his beloved granddaughter, Mattie Ann.
The White family would like to extend a special thank you to Ron’s caregivers—Mario Escamilla, Janel Lane, Gina Larson, and Gaylin Childress— for the support and guidance they provided these last months.
Arrangements under the direction of Ted Mayr Funeral Home, Ventura, CA.
