

After a long and fulfilling life as a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother Virginia Dare Dean Saulmon passed away surrounded by her loving family on January 26, 2015 after a lengthy illness. She was the third of four children born to Orvin and Bessie Dean on November 11, 1923 in Welleston, Oklahoma.
In January 1942 she married Bill Saulmon. Together they moved to Ventura with their two daughters Sharon and Cheryl. Virginia worked many years as a pharmacist assistant at Franz and Franz Drug store in downtown Ventura and Central Pharmacy before retiring in 1985. She loved to read, she could read a book a day before her illness.
Mom and Dad had 72 years together, they enjoyed traveling in their motorhome, taking their grandchildren with them. They enjoyed a special trip with Virginia’s dad, Orvin Dean taking him back to Missouri, Orvin’s birthplace.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents Orvin and Bessie Dean, husband Bill, sister Thelma Boots and brother John Dean. Virginia will be dearly missed by her sister Vera Wright, daughters Sharon Davis and Cheryl (Jim) Donswyk, grandchildren Scott (Laurie) Hope, Tim and Kirsten Davis, Dean (Maria) and Derek (Sarah) Donswyk, great grandchildren Will, Airielle, Philip, Shayne, and Samson.
Services will be held at 11:00 on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Road, Ventura. The family would like to thank everyone for all their loving support. A special thanks to Dr. Geoffrey Loman, Dr. John Handley and caregivers Angie, Myrna, and Ashley for all there care and kindness.
