Julie was the heart of the family, devoted wife to Walter Musial Jr., and the proud loving mother to Walter Blair (Nicole) and Michael (Miyuki). Her legacy continues with her two sons and three beloved grandchildren of Koa, Emily, and Nathan. She was the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Maria Barnabei, who forged a new life for their growing family in Montreal. Julie, the eldest sibling, carried forward their strength, values, and sacrifice for family. In a tender coincidence, Julie’s passing fell on the wedding anniversary of her late parents, a reminder of the deep family bonds that shaped her life. She will be deeply missed by her sisters Rita and Lucie, who were her inseparable companions and “guardian angels.” She is now reunited with her late sister Rose and other loved ones who have gone before her.
Julie remained faithful to her Catholic faith throughout her life. Her unwavering resilience, humility, warm generosity, and deep devotion to family will live on through all who loved her.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the church she cherished, Saint Patrick’s Basilica (460 Boul. René-Lévesque Ouest, Montreal) on Friday, November 7 at 10:30 a.m. A private interment of ashes will follow at Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery.
To honor Julie, memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada (https://kidney.ca). The Musial family would also like to express heartfelt gratitude for the compassionate and peaceful end-of-life care provided by La Maison Source Bleue in Boucherville. The tender care she received brought Julie peace and comfort in her final days.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
