She will be greatly missed by her sisters Karen Wenske (Charlie), Faye Cade (Ed), Judy Peters (Arnold), her many nieces and nephews, and her very best friend Maria Bybel.
Verna came to Montreal for Expo 1967 and never left. Being a natural leader, she had a very successful career in social work. After graduating from McGill she worked at the Douglas Hospital and eventually became the Director of the Department of Social
Work at the Neurological Institute.
Verna had a natural ability to touch all who met her. She was a warm, welcoming person who was always there for her family and many friends. She had a personality bigger than life.
She will be missed by her life long friends and those from golf, curling, bridge, and especially the ladies of the Ageless Ladies Association.
The family wishes to thank Dr.Bouganim at the MUHC, and Dr. Ferdais and nurse Diane Normandin from the Verdun CLSC for their attentive and compassionate care.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
Rest in peace, Verna. We love you.
