Adrian John Francis Baker

Adrian forged a successful career as a winemaker, mentoring many world-class winemakers along the way. In 2011, he brought his family to Canada, and helped to establish two prominent wineries, 50th Parallel and O’Rourke’s Peak Cellars/ O’Rourke Family Vineyards.

Adrian’s final months with ALS were spent at home with his family, whom he inspired every day with his kind smiles, patience, humility, and courage. Adrian saved his most valuable lesson for his family, as his example during this time of illness was one of the greatest gifts he gave.

Adrian is survived by his wife Patricia Baker; children Emily, Anton, Henry, and Francis Baker; mother Diana Baker; sister Julia (Dave) Bishop; and niece Bonnie Bishop.

Adrian’s funeral Requiem Mass was held at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Vernon, BC on June 4, 2021, and he is buried in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Vernon, BC.
