Dad survived his parents Edmond and Alphonsine, his six brothers Julien (Odelie), Lucien (Laurette), Romeo (Lucia), Robert (Florence), Marcel (Elsie), Francis (Yvette) and two sisters Cecile (Jack) and Margaret (Don).
Along with this incredible Gervais legacy of 5 children, 17 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren, Dad was born on a farm in Grandin Alberta, where he later met our mom and married in 1953, moved to Coquitlam (Maillardville) British Columbia, achieved a welding career in distribution and pipeline welding until he retired to a beautiful fruit orchard in Oyama, B.C.
Dad died a natural death attributed to heart failure at the Vernon Hospice House.
Viewing and Rosary Prayers will be held between 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m., followed by Funeral Services at the Pleasant Valley Funeral Home in Vernon on Monday, June 9th, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., family committal at 11:00 with light lunch and refreshments for all.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, kindly support the charity of your choice with Special mention to the North Okanagan Hospice Society and the Vernon Red Cross.
We owe immense gratitude and thanks to Dad’s professional teams along the way, including Dr. Boucher and Staff to Jackie with Interior Health, Vernon Jubilee Hospital, and to the most compassionate, caring volunteers and nursing staff at Vernon Hospice House who demonstrated respect and dignity towards our dad and family throughout his stay, and not to forget the staff and residents at the Victorian and Creekside Landing. Dad will be so missed by all those who knew and loved him. Rest in Peace Dad, you will be forever in our hearts.
