Bonita Myfanwy Blackmore

With sorrow, we announce the passing of our deeply loved Bonita (Bonnie) Myfanwy Blackmore (Nuyens) on October 10, 2025. She is finally reunited with her best friend and soul mate of 50 plus years Byng Blackmore, who passed away in 2022.

She is very loved and missed by her children Logan (Stephanie) Blackmore and Kelsey (Lee) Robson as well as her grandkids Tavon, Timber, Maverick, Taggart, Heidi, Lyla, Riggs, Chelan and Griffin.

She is enjoying a joyful reunion with her parents George and Miff Nuyens as well as her Sister Sharon Romeo and brother Ronald Nuyens.

She will be sorely missed also by the siblings she leaves behind Gordon (Pat) Nuyens, Irene (George) Hannah, Patti (Reg) Duggan, Cathy (Randy) Clark, Brother-in-law Perry Romeo (Jan Nucich) and Sister in law Lynn Nuyens.

She will also be missed by many of her in-laws who loved her like their own and many nieces and nephews who were very close to her, as well as cousins and many dear friends.

Bonnie lived for other people. Her life and everything she did was fully about enriching everyone’s lives around her. She was the most selfless, gracious and thoughtful person with a very gentle and welcoming personality. She was a second mom for many of her nieces and nephews and kids friends over the years because she has a way of connecting and making everyone feel special and important. She was a tough woman that worked exceptionally hard and was full of grit. She was always cheerful, and had a fantastic sense of humor that would get her laughing so hard she was in tears which would make everyone else in the room get into the same laughing fit. She was truly our sunshine.

Bonnie was born and raised in Vernon, BC and lived in the Coldstream area for all her 74 years for which 30 of those years she worked at BC Tel/Telus and therefore has many people that have been touched by her over the years.

There will be a funeral service for her held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Friday October 17, 2025.

Funeral to start promptly at 1:00PM. Graveside service to follow, returning to the church gymnasium for a casual memorial reception afterwards.
