Donna died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 84 on December 31, 2025. Donna was born in North Vancouver but grew up and lived in Vernon after the age of 10. She met Roy in 1961 and gave up her work as an elementary school teacher when they married in 1963.
Donna devoted her time to being a homemaker and raising her two daughters. She so enjoyed working with children that she was a Brownie leader for many years, going from assistant Tawny Owl to leading the pack as Brown Owl. Later she was an active volunteer for the Vernon Jubilee Hospital. She loved doing craft work and would do crafts with her young grandson and later with other seniors at her last residence.
Donna is survived by her two daughters, Heather (Bruce Harwood), 60, and Sandi (Noel Ratch), 57, and her grandson, Daniel Ratch. Donna is also survived by her sister, Margaret (Bill) Miles. ia.
