May 1924 – December 2014
Born and raised in the City of North Vancouver, until 1943 when he volunteered for the Canadian Army. His time in the Army was spent at Camp Borden (Ontario) in Headquarters Company. Upon his discharge in 1946 he returned to the North Shore and became an employee of the District of West Vancouver where he worked for 37 years. During this time he joined the Canadian Army Militia, the Irish Fusiliers (Vancouver Regiment) and attended the Vernon Cadet Camp many times as an instructor, which he enjoyed. On retirement his time was divided between West Vancouver and the cottage at Fintry Delta.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Sheila, son Norman (Linda), grandson Norm (Kathleen), and great granddaughters, Delaney, Meaghan, and Haley.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nursing staff of Vernon Jubilee Hospital (3East), nursing and care staff of Polson Multi and Vernon Funeral Home for their care, consideration and assistance at this time.
