It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bob Davidson.
Bob was born and raised in Thunder Bay, Ontario (Port Arthur). He received his post-secondary
education at Macdonald College of McGill University and at Bishop’s University. Bob taught in
St. Agathe des Monts, Quebec and at Hammarskjold High School in Thunder Bay, Ontario
before he and his family moved to Vernon.
In Vernon, Bob loved his many years of coaching and teaching at W.L. Seaton Secondary. In
particular, he cherished the times he shared with his gymnasts. Mr. D. was always thrilled to
bump into a former “Seaton Kid” wherever he went.
Outside of teaching and coaching, Bob enjoyed his passions of skiing, golfing and fly-fishing
with his friends and family. In fact, he enjoyed bragging to his friends back East about being
able to do all three in one day. Bob loved to live, laugh, compete and play. He made us want to
play too. “Oogie Doogie, we’re going to have a good time today!”
The most important thing to Bob was his family. He loved his “Joanie.” He meant everything to
his children, Ken and Stacey and Tori and Paul. “Grampy” was adored by his five grandchildren
Nicola, Matthew, Noah, Brady and Blake. He could not wait to hear about all of their volleyball,
rugby and basketball experiences.
Bob was recently predeceased by his sister, Joan (Kelowna) and is survived by her daughter,
Tannis (London, England). He is also survived by his brother, Bill and wife, Angel (Thunder
Bay).
All of us will miss him.
“Go Habs Go!”
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bob can be made to the Vernon Food Bank or the charity of your choice. Expressions of sympathy can be made at the Pleasant Valley Funeral Home website, www.pleasantvalleyfh.com
Remembering Bob
Bob didn’t want any formal celebration of Life. Instead, a casual “drop-in” will be held on July 31, 2023 between 2&4pm at the Vernon Golf & Country Club.
