
Sandie was born on Aug. 27, 1949 to Pauline and Lloyd Kalusik in Trail, BC and grew up in Fruitvale, BC. After attending Selkirk College and University of Victoria, she moved to Lumby where she became a teacher for JW Inglis Elementary. She taught there for over 30 years. While in Lumby she enjoyed bowling, curling, golfing, and swimming. Over the years she also attended St. John's Lutheran Evangelical Church in Vernon, where she spent time volunteering for the Children Summer Bible Camp. After retiring Sandie spent her time swimming more at the Lumby Pool, and volunteering for the Lumby Lions.
In 1975, Sandie Kalusik met Bill Compton at bowling and they also enjoyed curling and golfing together. Bill and Sandie eventually got married and went on to have one daughter.
Sandie was predeceased by her mother, father, and brother Karl. She is survived by her daughter Crystal, her husband Dan Williams and their son Alexander, Sandie's sister Leanne Kalusik (Drake Bouliane), her brother Jay Kalusik and his wife Sharon Kalusik (Tessa and Chris Whyte). She will always be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother, awesome auntie, dedicated teacher, and loving friend.
Services will be held at St. John's Lutheran Evangelical Church on May 9, 2026 at 1:00 pm.
