Sheila (tequila) nickname (she hardly drank) passed away at Hospice House on September 17th, 2026 of complications from COPD. She was born in Vancouver to Joe and Elsie Sugden.
After graduation from John Oliver high school, Sheila chose a career in dentistry. Then newly married, she moved to the beautiful city of Vernon; she later divorced with two boys.
Sheila continued her career as a dental assistant, office manager, and president of the BC Dental Association. It was her “lucky day” in 1971 she met the love of her life Terry, a husband of 55 years and a stepdad to Gary Ferguson (predeceased in 1993) and Sandy Ferguson and wife Angie Gallon and two granddaughters, Chantel and Mackenzie.
Sheila was a bright light–always welcoming when one knocked on the door–always full of advice, a good joke and a laugh.
Sheila and Terry travelled the west coast of USA, and loved the charm of Hawaii (Wakiki Beach), they made the best pina coladas!
Sheila was a great fan of stock car racing and she had her own fan support base of screamers “go, Terry, go!” What a wild time at Tillicum Raceway in the 1970s…the best music, the best cars, and the best women.
Sheila would like to say so long to many family and friends, you know who you are?? She was a shopaholic looking for all the bling…antique shops, the mall and the home shopping channel.
Hot pink, lime green and pink Sapphires and shoes “wow” we don’t talk about that. If you think this obituary is off the wall, that’s alright I’ve never written one before…
There was a small viewing on Friday September 18th, 2026 and cremation is to follow:
— Love you, rest in peace baby…
