It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Susan Borland (67), a loving mother, grandmother, auntie, and friend, who passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, surrounded by love from her daughter, son, and special dog, Bobby Lynn.
Susan began her life in Calgary, Alberta, born to Joan and Bob Borland on December 31, 1958. She always joked that everyone joined in on the party for her birthday. She was born and raised in Calgary and attended Mount Royal College before marrying and moving to Saskatchewan, where she began raising her family. She eventually moved out to Vernon, BC in 2001 before moving to Lake Country where the remaining years were spent.
Susan graduated from Depot and became an RCMP Officer on April 26, 1995. She spent 25 years with the RCMP, with highlights of her career including serving on the BC Interview Team and the Serious Sex Crimes Unit in Vernon, BC. She was incredibly proud of her service and the opportunity to help many people throughout her career. She retired in 2020 and embraced her new role as a loving Grandma.
Sue was a strong-willed, funny, loving, and loyal friend who enjoyed a good laugh and “party time” on the patio. She loved spending her summers out at “The River,” where she and her dog Bobby enjoyed the company of many cherished friends. Her giggle and warm spirit will resonate in our hearts and minds forever.
Susan leaves behind her children, Jason and Jennifer (Tyler, Adalynn, and Asher), and her sister, Lori (Brad). Grandma Sue will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Adalynn and Asher, as well as by her many friends and extended family members.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Okanagan Centre Hall, located at 11099 Maddock Avenue, Lake Country, BC, on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. All whose lives were touched by Susan are warmly welcome to attend and celebrate her life.
