

Lois Ann (Schmiesing) Marshal Drees, 78 of Versailles, Ohio passed away on Thursday November 23, 2017 at 5:05 AM at her residence. She was born July 23, 1939 in McCartyville, Ohio the daughter of the late Wilbur & Ann Schmiesing. She worked at Clopay.
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church; St. Ann’s Sodality; Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. She was a very strong, protective, caring mother &friend who overcame many obstacles in life and embraced the love of her family. She enjoyed playing cards and traveling with her friends She loved her watching her grandchildren’s activities and made each grandchild feel like her favorite .
She is preceded in death by her parents; her 1st husband: Michael Marshal; 2nd husband: Paul Drees; son: Ricky Marshal; brother: Larry Schmiesing; in laws: Louis & Ruth Marshal, Edward & Josephine Drees.
She is survived by her children & spouses: Kenneth & Karla Marshal of Versailles, Brenda & Mark Cavinder of Anna, Julie & Don Rethman of Jackson Center, Steve & Deb Marshal of Versailles, Mark & Connie Marshal of Yorkshire, Jeanne & Dave Frey of Cincinnati, Julia & Louie Kremer of Versailles, Jenny & Shane Weaver of Versailles; grandchildren: Olivia, Danielle, & Kristopher Marshal, Tiffany Pirkl, Josh Cavinder, Jason Rethman, Megan Roche, Justin, Emily, Mallory, & Katelyn Marshal, Michael, Joel, & Marcus Marshal, Jenna, Andrew, & Paige Burris, Lewis Kremer, Evan Weaver; great grandchildren: Burk, Liliana, Parker, Delaney, Juliana: siblings & spouses: Marvin & Judy Schmiesing of Jackson Center, Larry & Janice Schmiesing of Anna, Judy & Mike Cechvala of Anna, Tim & Marnell Schmiesing of Anna; step mother: Betty Schmiesing; cousin: Phyllis Poeppelman her best friend all her life; numerous nieces & nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at St. Denis Catholic Church, 14 East Wood Street Versailles, Ohio with Rev. Fr. Jim Simons celebrant. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery in Frenchtown. The family will receive friends on Monday November 27, 2017 from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Tuesday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County or Cancer Association of Darke County.
