For Allan's family both Ruth and myself send our profound sympathy.  I first met Allan in 1964 at
the Radio collage at King Edward school in Vancouver.
  During my short posting to the weather ships we lived in Victoria and 
Allan and Charlotte took us for some sight seeing in his sports car.  I will miss our Thursday evening radio telegraphy sessions on the 160 meter band. Plus having his radio experience to call on.  Will be waiting for those long delayed echoes to appear again....

I have known Allan since Malvern House School here in Victoria, BC.  Allan and I have discussed woodworking for many years and as of late we have been visiting each other.  I will missed his company.  My deepest sympathy to his family.

On behalf of the Town of View Royal Fire Department and Emergency Program I want to personally thank Allan's family for the hundreds (probably thousands) of countless volunteer hours he dedicated to making our Town a better and safer place to live. Time away from you, was time that the residents of View Royal recieved tremendous benefit. His contributions will never be forgotten, his impact on emergency prepardness in View Royal and the Province will live on for generations. You all can be very proud of Allans service to his community. Thanks Allan, you're a good man.

As  a young man I  admired the " Radio Station"  in View Royal, later on when I  became a amateur radio enthusiast myself, I  was introduced to  Allan VE7WU  by  a mutual friend,  Bob Earl, VE7BQF ( now VE7SQ )   Over the last 20 years I  got  to know a very kind and very smart individual on the topic of  "  All things scientific and other  mysteries of the radio Universe "  I  was constantly amazed at how  Allans  health affliction, had  no dampening on his ability to  MOVE  and GET IT DONE, I  recall how he used to  RUN  up and down his stairs, and I'd have to hold the railings.  I  indeed  am priviledged to have known Allan personally and to have enjoyed his company. My condolances to Charlotte and family.  73 OM,  Henk  VA7HV.

To Allan's family, please accept my sincere sympathy.  I knew Allan during my early school years in Oak Bay and remember him well. It was at a time when we worked on our first cars with only a few dollars in our pockets and a lot of labour.  A great memory.

Allan will be sorely missed. After growing up with his son Ivan, I have always felt that he is a part of my extended family. I have fond memories of watching him make mounds of mashed potatoes for dinner, granola by the garbage pail and the workshop where we weren't allowed to touch anything as children! Through the years his garden, "radio room" and family have grown... I am a better person for knowing him and his family.
