Barbara jean Tulip passed away at home on Monday ,June 8 2026 at the age of 68 years. Special thanks to the staff at VGH , home care workers and the Hospice Response Team for making her final days ones of peace . Born in North Vancouver to parents Sid and Jean Pickett , both from England , the youngest of three children , she also lived in Victoria and Nanaimo where she graduated in 1976. Moved back to Victoria in 1979 where she met her future husband Paul in Oly's disco that same year. Barbara and Paul were married on Sep 6,1980 and had a son Daniel in 1983 .Barb worked at the Credit Bureau and later at the Vic P.D. Records division until Daniel was born and returned to work in 2009 at Country Grocer in Royal Oak as a cashier and in the Post office . Many of you will remember her patience and ready smile. Barb had a great sense of humour , she often said she married an import , Paul came from England the year he turned 19 in 1965 . Barb enjoyed reading, music and making beautiful cross stitches that look like paintings. Barb will be lovingly remembered by her brother Cam, sister Dawn (Cliff) and Paul's younger brothers and sisters , Jim (Dian), Mary (Tony), Irene (Jim) , Allan (Susan) and Kathryn, nieces and nephews , Keith, Scott, Shawn, Kim and Marrianne. Ian, Jennifer, Tara, Gerard, Marcia, Paul, Beverly and Julie , many other relatives and anyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Barb told me recently that we had a wonderful life together, she was such a special person who will be sorely missed , especially by her husband Paul and son Daniel . Rest in peace sweetheart.
There will be no service as per Barb's wishes , condolences and memories may be shared and viewed at the First Memorial on Falaise website.
