Bea was born in Big Stone, Alberta, and at the age of 10 moved with her parents and brothers to Glendevon, B.C. As there was no secondary school there, starting at the age of 14, Bea worked for her board in Nakusp and Nelson, B.C. in order to achieve her school graduation.
Bea trained and obtained her RN at the Royal Jubilee Hospital where she then continued to work for about 40 years, much of that time as head nurse of a women’s ward..
Bea’s activities in retirement included her beloved garden, dancing, the 'Britty' Club, and continuing to help others, often sharing the results of her cooking expertise.
Bea will be greatly missed by her son Allen (Lisa), daughters Lawney and Tracey, grandsons Joshua, Ethan and Logan, granddaughter Brielle, brother Robert, sister Marianne, a large extended family, and her many wonderful friends who brightened her days to the end. Bea was very pleased to know that she had friends and family across 4 and 5 generations.
We thank and appreciate the staff of the Royal Jubilee where Bea had started her career, married in the chapel, cared for countless patients, and finished her 'career'.
By Bea’s request, there will be no formal service.
