When I entered Central Junior High School from Sidney, many years ago, Bruce mentored me, sharing his love of Science. We were casual friends at Central and at Victoria High School; on one occasion, starting Science in grade 10, Bruce defended me against the dislike of Mr Andrews, the Science teacher  - "Richard's not that bad". ( I learned later that my older brother had called Mr Andrews a bad name during a rugby game - definitely a no-no back in the day! )
    I lost touch with Bruce and many other classmates when I attended U.B.C. Some years later, I came to Bruce'  Doctoral presentation at U.B.C. ( a sparsely attended lecture dealing with something involving seagulls ). I met Bruce again at the 1961 class reunion in 2018 ( ? ). I miss Bruce.

Hello Terry - very sorry to hear about Bruce. He was an amazing teacher and a great mentor to me when I was the administrator in Anatomy. I last saw him at Ken Donnelly’s memorial in Vancouver. He will be fondly remembered by hundreds of medical and dental students and by all his grad students, technical staff and colleagues at UBC.  Best wishes. Roseanne (McIndoe)
