This truck ride had us hanging on for dear life! No seat belts and our  butts were flying up in the air two to three feet high then crashing down on the seat! Its amazing none of us got hurt! At one point we got stuck in the creek crossing. While the truck driver got out and used the hoist in the front of the truck to pull us out we sat in the back watching the water rush behind us. It added to the adventure.

This is the truck we took our Canyon de Chilly tour in and thust me it was a rough ride lol! At one point we got stuck in mud but it just made the trip more exciting for the sisters.

In 2012 Larry and I took a trip to Canyon de Chelly with Aunt Connie and mom. Yep she loved her adventures and mom went on many with her. It was a fun time!

I will miss my mother dearly. She had a very strong exporer's spirit, much of which she passed along to me. In the late 1960's her and I explored much of the Amazon headwaters in Iquitos and Letitia;  Bogota in Columbia; Arequipa, Lima and Cuzco in Peru and Titicaca in Bolivia and Panama.
She met me in Mexico while I was on a year long student exchange where we explored much of Mex. City, Puebla, Guanajuato, Leon, Veracruz and Xalapa, with me as her translator. Many years later she ended up on Dal Lk., in Kashmere India where she bought, renovated and lived for many years in her floating palace anchored on the lake. Her age and declining health brought her back to Canada where she eventually returned to Victoria. 
I will miss her but will always be thankful for the wandering spirit and thirst for exploring that she instilled in me.
Rest in peace mom and thank you.

Mom loved traveling.  Always looking forward to her next adventure.  India and Tibet were her favorites.  She rode elephants and camels,  she accompanied an Australian doctor up the Himalayan Mnts to visit a leprosy colony on one of her adventures.  She had a full life.

Mom loved her travels. Her adventures thruout Tibet and India were her happiest times. She rode on elephants and camels, ventured with a doctor up the Himalayan Mtns to visit the Leprosy Colony there.  Her life was full of adventures.
