

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dallas William Gene Ladret, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend, who left us on January 20, 2025, at the age of 76. Born February 29th 1948 in Vancouver BC, Dallas lived a life defined by love, sacrifice, and dedication to his family.
Dallas was married to his soulmate, Shirley Buker, at the young age of 18. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with joy and unwavering love. Their bond was truly one of a kind, and the loss of Shirley in June 2015 was a profound heartbreak for Dallas. For over 13 years, following a stroke he suffered in 2002, Dallas relied on Shirley’s care and devotion. She was his constant companion, his caretaker, and his strength. In return, Dallas’s love for her was unshakable, she was the light of his life.
A hardworking man through and through, Dallas often held two jobs to provide for his family, always ensuring they had what they needed. His commitment to their well-being was immeasurable, and his work ethic set a powerful example for his children. His love for his family was fierce, and he will be remembered for his dedication and devotion.
Dallas is survived by his four sons, Ronald, Shane., D'Arcy, and Jesse, his 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, extended family, and countless friends who will miss him dearly. Dallas’s presence brought comfort and security to those around him and is life stands as a testament to hard work, selflessness, and the power of love.
Dallas will always be remembered as a devoted husband, a dedicated father, and a man whose strength and love left an indelible mark on everyone he met. May he rest in peace, forever reunited with the love of his life, Shirley.
A private service will be held for family and close friends to celebrate Dallas' life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Broadmead Care, in his memory.
