Don was taught by his parents at an early age the value of hard work, and instilled this work ethic into all his children. He began by delivering groceries on his bicycle, working on his grandparent’s farm, then working in the family moving company for many years.
Throughout his 50 years of driving 18 wheelers, he travelled 5 million miles across Canada and the USA. He had great stories of his experiences. He raised two families (10 children), with the able assistance of 2 good women.
Don tackled everything with great energy, enthusiasm and gusto. He could move anything, fix anything and build anything.
He and Jacquie had many different RVs. From tenting to a fifth wheel, they travelled extensively, belonged to a RV Club and enjoyed many happy adventures with their friends and family.
We offer special thanks to the marvellous nurses and health care workers on 4A Victoria General Hospital, who made Don as comfortable as possible, as well as Dr. A. Marthyman and Dr. B. Sanders.
