Born in Vancouver, she was the last remaining child of John and Martha Taylor. She grew up in East Vancouver with her 5 siblings. In 1950 she married Tony Stipkala and they moved to Victoria, where they built their home in Cordova Bay.
Her husband’s military career path took them to bases in Ontario and Nova Scotia and Naden in Victoria in between these postings. After Tony’s retirement they returned to their home in Cordova Bay, where they enjoyed travel and spending time looking after their beautiful gardens around their home.
Donalda is predeceased by her husband Tony and son Randy. She leaves behind her daughter Nancy (Stan) and son Tony (Cheryl), 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews in BC and the US.
Donalda spent her last remaining months enjoying the beautiful gardens at Saanich Peninsula Long Term Care and daily visits by her family.
