It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Fred Neveaux, on May 10th, 2024, at the age of 86, in the presence of his loving family; Dauna, beloved wife of 67 years, and father to David (Lori), Rick (Ellen), James (Susan) and Anne Hudec (Alvin).
Fred enrolled in the military as an Apprentice Sapper at the age of 16 and served proudly across Canada as a Construction Engineer until his retirement in 1984. He then continued to serve in various positions within the Public Service of Canada until 1995, before segueing into leisure activities of travel, sailing, golf, and model railroading (namely, “Wilfredton”) with his pals Bill and Tony. Fred enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and the many friends he made over the years, celebrating each occasion with a zest for life. We would like to recognize the level of care and comfort provided to Fred by the doctors and nurses of RJH Subacute Care Unit, Dr. Keeler (GP), Dr. Iqbol (Cardiologist), and Dr. Schacter (Nephrologist) and their associated staff. In lieu of flowers, donations in Fred’s name may be made, with thanks, to Victoria Hospice. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 31st, 2024, at First Memorial Funeral Services, 4725 Falaise Drive in Royal Oak.
