Gerald was born Feb. 18, 1929 in Somerset, Manitoba to Louis and Oliva Moreau. Gerald, a professor at UVIC and Canadian Citizenship Judge was awarded the Order of Canada for over 5 decades of volunteer work. Gerald met Henriette in 1968, got married in 1970 and had two sons. Gerald dedicated his life to family, church and community.
Gerald was predeceased by his wife Henriette, his parents and 9 siblings. He is survived by his 2 sons Martin (Teri) and Richard; sisters Evelyn, Jeannette and Doreen; 5 grandkids; 1 great grandson; countless nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at St Patrick’s Parish (2060 Haultain St, Victoria) on Nov. 3 at 12:10pm. Followed by burial.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Victoria Hospice, an organization Gerald felt strongly about.
