Predeceased by her beloved second husband David Fricker, she leaves her children Beverley Valkenier (Hans), Catherine Hobart (Henry Levy), Rosalind Hobart, and Geordie Hobart as well as 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Born in Edmonton, June grew up in Montreal. She attended Kings Hall Compton, graduated McGill in 1951 and received a Master’s in Social work from the University of Toronto in 1984. After a rewarding career in social work, she and David retired in Victoria and spent decades travelling the world. She loved tennis, skiing, bridge, and amassed a wonderful network of friends. She will be remembered for her intellectual curiosity, infectious laughter and understated elegance.
She lived to be 95, but she never grew old.
A funeral will be held on April 27 at noon in Christchurch cathedral.
