Gloria was a loving member of our family. She was a delight to be around and always had many stories to share. Gloria had a vibrant personality which kept you smiling when you parted ways. She was a concerned and caring friend and has been missed since her passing. Our sincere condolences go out to her family and many friends.

I will always fondly remember Gloria, her wit, her smarts, her generosity of spirit and like her mother, she loved growing beautiful flowers. Gloria was special and it has been an honour to have her as a cousin.

Gloria and I water walked at the Commonwealth pool for many years!! Everyone knew and loved Gloria for her humor, compassion, adventure and her warmth! She was sooo proud of her family and loved them with every bone in her body! 
     She will be truly missed in the pool, but never be forgotten!!!!

We were so sorry to hear of Gloria's passing. Take comfort in all the happy memories and in knowing that you gave Gloria such wonderful care and love.
We have some good memories of Gloria and Wayne over the years -  through Hydro and as friends.

This brings such sadness to my heart. Gloria was a lovely person and whenever we saw each other at my workplace, Saanich Commonwealth Place, we shared some great moments. She always made me laugh and I did her. I will fondly remember Gloria and I am glad that in the years that I worked there, we got to know each other pretty well.  My deepest condolences to the family.

Gloria and Pat (my Husband) shared the same birthday, March 16,1940,they were our twins and always made a point to give each a call to wish each other well

how very sad.  We at the Commonwealth Pool will miss  Gloria greatly, she was much loved.  She loved my Service Dog Gretzky too.  I know that Sandi, Andy and the dear girls will love the memories that Gloria has left for them.  I know they will miss her a great deal, and may those memories ease the pain of her loss

So sorry to hear that Gloria has passed. I met her several years ago at Commonwealth pool...Right from the 1st time I met her in the change room she was friendly! She was quick to introduce me to others and include in in sauna conversations. She told numerous stories of how proud she was of her daughter and grandkids! Amazing lady.

My deepest sympathies to Don, Velma, Sandy, Andy and all of Gloria’s beloved grandchildren and great grand-daughter. I will always remember her accompanying Sandi to a big demonstration at the Legislature and running into my dad and I.  Why didn’t we get a picture of this purposeful and principled participation? Gloria was gracious and insightful always descriptive about how best to transplant and care for bulbs and shrubs and how she   loved her sequoia- a reminder of Wayne - the love of her life!  You will always be fondly remembered by many as such a good person but I’ll always recall your charm, beautiful smile, empathic glances and your unique and hearty laugh. So long, beloved cousin, it’s been so good to know and love you!

I’m so sad to hear of Gloria’s passing.  I was fortunate to get to know her through the rec centre where I was her water fit instructor several years ago.  She was a fixture there and I always looked forward to seeing and talking to her.  Gloria was a great listener and gave me much needed advice that I will be forever grateful for.  I truly admired her and her zest for life.  The world has lost a ray of sunshine.  Condolences to you all

My heartfelt condolences to Sandi and Family. I have many fond memories of chats with Gloria in my classroom and in the hallways of Northridge Elementary during the years her grandchildren attended the school. ... whether it be about an upcoming holiday adventure; workouts; or updates about her grand kids ( 2 of which I had the privilege of teaching). She emanated grace, sincerity, humour and a deep appreciation/love of family. I regret not sharing these words with her directly when I had the chance. Sigh. Time has a way of healing.

Condolences to Gloria’s family. I have lots of happy memories. She’d always tease  me that she was 3 months older than me. On my birthday we said we couldn’t believe that we were 80. 

My sincere sympathy to Gloria’s family.  I met Gloria a couple of years ago playing crib.  I found her to be a real classy woman!  We shared many laughs together and I was so looking to see her again once the pandemic had passed, sadly that will not be.  It was a shock to learn of her passing, I will miss her!

Just a couple of months ago I was talking to Gloria about when I came down and stayed with her while son Brian was in hospital, back in 1968.  Both Gloria's kids were young, but everyday she drove me to hospital and picked me up.   Condolences to family.  Auntie Alice

I was deeply saddened to hear of Gloria’s passing.  I will fondly remember her and our monthly visits over the years.  She was a woman of great strength and had a fun zest for life!  Her family was so important to her and were a part of many conversations.  My heart breaks for the pain you must all be feeling. My deepest sympathy to every family member.  Gloria was such a special person that enriched others' lives.  
Coming from an excellent family, Gloria knew how to work hard and to enjoy life. She organized and thrived in the  grand era of Wee Ponderosa dances, knowing how to make a lethal punch, dating before the internet, and not embarrassed at her love of country music and topless sunbathing. If you ever had the surreal experience of being at a party and talking to a really cool parent, that was Gloria. With great morals, a testament to her own upbringing, she gave excellent advice, understood people and kept their confidences.
Taking teenage girls camping year after year-even following gallbladder surgery one summer, is but one example of her selflessness. Remortgaging her home due to the amount she spent buying hotdogs to feed them was another. Always grinning and being fabulous, despite said teen girls' endless shenanigans while camping at Gordon Bay or at home. 
Gloria was a superb parent ...to a few more than her own two. With a clean and comfortable home with the camper, the VW Bug and her wee yellow Honda Civic in the driveway. That  home had the first garburator I ever saw... and the best snacks. She indulged her children's requests for endless strays, kittens and even a big sheepdog. She also allowed her girls to have friends over to play pool, jump on the trampoline, suntan, listen to music, experiment with make up, play air band and perform said shenanigans. 
Being smart and capable,  she had an excellent career.  She was a star being manager of the cosmetics department with two teenage girls! So much to be proud of.  A tall, attractive woman, who held herself well and invoked that confidence in others. She expertly raised a family and held a responsible job with demands but reaped  the rewards of being near the family she loved so much. I truly hope, while you may be feeling  the darkest loss,  you remember the lessons, the love & the laughter she left. 

I loved Gloria she was such a young person at heart....with her coloured hair...purple or pink. Always smiling and just enjoying life. My day was always better after speaking with her. It had been a few months since I had spoken with her....she called me and ordered two raised garden planters awhile back and had her son pick them up. A couple days later she called and said how much she was looking forward to planting things in them. It was so nice that she supported us locally with all the covid stuff going on.
I called to have a chat with her a few weeks ago about joining in on our new email bingo as our regular in house had to be cancelled. Unfortunately she was in the hospital and I was unable to talk to touch base. I’m so sorry for your lose but wow....I’m so glad I knew her....what a lady.....she will be missed....sending lotsa hugs.
