Irene was born and raised in Dresden, Germany where she met and married her childhood sweetheart. In 1957 they immigrated to Canada where they were very fortunate to live in Victoria the rest of their lives.
The joy that Irene experienced raising her two children was immeasurable. She kept a warm and loving home. Imagine the aroma of a soup on the stove, a cake in the oven and the smell of our clothes on the line, drying in the breeze.
Over the years Irene and Roland enjoyed cruises and many vacations to their hometown of Dresden visiting with close friends and family.
Irene is predeceased by her husband Roland in 2022. She is survived by her loving children, daughter Gaby (Don), son Gary (Susan) and grandson Ken (Carla) who called our mum Omi. Irene also leaves her youngest sibling, a sister Moni in Dresden.
