Jill Hastings

Jill was predeceased by her beloved nephew, Matthew Zupanc; her brother, Greg Hastings; and her stepfather, William (Dusty) Rhodes.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her father, Beryl Hastings (Betty Corkish); her mother, Harlene Rhodes; her sisters, Bonny Hastings (Barb Graham) and Barbara Hastings; her niece, Mandi McLeod (Addie Tonn); and her many friends and extended family members whose lives she touched throughout the years.

Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Jill lived in many communities across Alberta and British Columbia. For the past fifteen years, she made her home in Victoria, British Columbia, where she enjoyed being close to her family.

Jill dedicated 5 years of service to the Canadian Armed Forces, laying the foundation for her lifelong dedication to helping others. Jill was avid reader and lifelong learner, proudly maintaining a personal library that reflected her curiosity and love of knowledge. She will be fondly remembered for her thoughtful book recommendations, her enthusiasm for shopping, and her passion for travel. Her adventures took her to many remarkable destinations, including Australia and countries throughout Europe.

A devoted dog lover, Jill held a special place in her heart for her beloved companion, BJ. Those who knew her can easily imagine that she has now gone off script, searching for the Rainbow Bridge to be reunited with her treasured friend once again.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the many people who supported Jill throughout her life and during her final days, as well as the compassionate nurses and physicians at Royal Jubilee Hospital and Victoria General Hospital for the care they provided.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jill's memory may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation or Vasculitis Canada.

A private family celebration of Jill's life will be held at a later date.

Though she is gone from our sight, she will remain forever in our hearts.
