He easily mastered the art of playing the clarinet, soprano-alto-tenor-baritone saxophones and played in the big bands of: Bill Kinsey, Coppertones, Paul Mascioli, Commodores, Fisher-Moore, Don Leppard, and many more.
At heart, John was a Jazzman.
He ventured into the realms of Concert Bands for a short time with the Chief and Petty Officers Association and Monterey Concert Bands.
Very seldom are one’s children proud of their parents, but to John’s three children (Stella, Dorian and Carl), their father was the best ever. And John felt the same way about them, he loved them to bits. Then along came Aaron, Amanda, James, Justine and Jack -- the most wonderful, loving (and loved) grandchildren.
The finale was just how John wanted it to be -- in a hospital and in no pain. But we wanted an encore -- we didn’t want him to ever leave us.
Me, I’m Jean, the loving wife, so grateful for the three marvellously unique children My John gave me, and for being my inseparable partner for 64 years. R.I.P.
