He was a resident of Victoria, British Columbia and was a big brother to siblings Ed, Andy, Betty, Helen and Theresa. He took the role very seriously providing care and comfort when needed.
John was an outdoorsman enjoying both fishing and hunting. In later years he became an avid metal detector treasuring his many findings. In his retirement his love of gold panning became his true passion.
He worked hard to provide for his children, Steven, Keith and Janine and took pride in the life he built for his family. He is survived by wife Debbie, children and grandchildren Lucas and Lily.
A Celebration of Life will be held at First Memorial Funeral Services, 4725 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC, V8Y 1B4, CA, on May 22, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
