John was born in Bristol England on November 22nd, 1945 and passed on June 7th, 2025
John was a skilled Red Seal carpenter with a big heart and an even bigger sense of humour – always ready to lend a hand and share a laugh.
John is survived by his loving wife Eileen, his son James (Liane), step daughter Julie-Anne (Lee), stepson Jody, grandchildren Nick (20), Maya (7) and Maverick (3) John was predeceased by his wife Rosemary, his mother-in-law Eileen (Nan) and his constant companion Rambo.
When John emigrated to Canada and eventually landed in Victoria, he quickly became involved with Victoria Operatic Society where he performed for 25 years and often was chosen as the leading man, in many Broadway productions where John met many of his life long friends and enjoyed it immensely. John lit up a room with his humour and charm.
John and his wife Eileen loved to travel and visited many exotic places annually. They sailed the BVI’s twice with Kelly Orr and “Captain” Tom Loney, who was one of John’s best friends. John happily stepped into the role of “Dinghy Captain”. Not only did John and his wife loved traveling, they also enjoyed the challenge of renovating homes together. They truly adored their 24 years together.
A special thanks to Steve Ivings and the Poker boys for years of continuous amusement and friendship.
Everyone who knew John will miss his sharp wit, infectious laugh and knack for turning any moment into entertainment.
Forever in our hearts – may he rest in peace.
