Getting diagnosed with Alzheimers in 2015 was a huge shock to us all. He tried to keep healthy but his illness landed him in the Victoria General Hospital in mid-August where he stayed. He was treated by dedicated doctors, nurses and nurse’s aides. We thank them all. A special big thank you to the staff on 4BS for your excellent care.
Bob practiced dentistry from 1970 to 2006. He loved his work and the results proved it. He had excellent staff and many patients became our friends. Whatever the challenges he met along the way he met them all. He was President of the Victoria Dental Society in 1983 and 1984. Bob retired earlier than he wanted, due to his health.
Bob also gave of himself in the community from our kids’ sports to later volunteering at Cook St. Village Activity Centre. He was proud to be on the board and then President of that board. We met a lot of good people there and enjoyed helping whenever we could.
Bob loved golfing and enjoyed playing for many years. From Glen Meadows to Uplands, he loved it all. Once again, he made many friends.
The role Bob cared about most was as husband, father and grandfather to our family. He was a very proud family man to Terri, wife of fifty one years, son Kevin (his wife Jenny and their sons Ben and Daniel), and daughter, Sarah (son Zan).
Bob will be missed by family and many friends from all over Canada.
At Bob’s request, there will be no service. He never liked being the center of attention, even now.
Goodbye my love, may you rest in peace.
